Made in collaboration with Lindsay Brett, Kevin McCusker, and Rachel Stern.  This is an app designed to be used on location at the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park, NY and allow people to interact with the area.  After visiting this location and taking notes, we noticed that the map of the area was confusing and too large and inconvenient to carry around.  We also felt that the website needed to be organized more efficiently.  Our app features a redesigned map that would be easy to use on a handheld device and look more visually pleasing with flat illustrations, a clean and organized events and general information page, and an augmented reality tour that allows people to see the mansion as it was in its original context, making the tour more engaging and memorable.  In order to create a cohesive visual style that would be used throughout the app, we all agreed to keep the original elegant feel of the mansion but adding a modern touch.
